Still another RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) has come and gone. This was my seventh year doing the ride and it had its own unique flavor compared to any of the others.
My brother Jeff was back with us this year after having to miss last year due to the imminent birth of his son Joe. Jeff bought a tandem over the winter and brought his daughter Anna with him. She rode the first four days with him and did an outstanding job. According to Jeff, she was a real hit with all the other riders they encountered.

Another brother Steve was unable to make it this year due to a family vacation in Florida at the same time. We sure missed having his pull-behind camper that he allowed us to use last year.
Another brother John was back in the group, along with his sons Zach and Ben, and his daughter Abby. Just like Anna, Abby did an outstanding job, making the entire ride.
My sister Stacey and her husband Joe rode this year, the second ride for Stacey and first for Joe.

We missed having my Dad and Steve’s father-in-law Gaylen to drive support vehicles like last year.
The ride was good, I enjoyed the quality time with many family members, and once again was kind of sad that it had to end. I’m already looking forward to next year!

I certainly took pictures to try to document the ride. There were not as many others taking pictures this year so the number and variety of viewpoints might not be quite as good. My wife Vickie bought a new camera just before the ride this year and I experimented a bit with the video capability so you’ll see a few videos interspersed throughout the website. Once again this year, I’ve grouped everyone’s pictures together, and even tried to list them according to time they were taken.
